Controller - $85k Plus DOE
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Controller to oversee the financial operations of our organization. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in accounting, financial reporting, and strategic planning to manage our financial health and ensure compliance with regulations.
Essential Duties and Functions
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Perform variance analyses to assess performance against budgets and forecasts.
- Develop and manage annual budgets in collaboration with departmental leaders.
- Provide financial projections to support strategic decision-making.
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Monitor cash flow to ensure liquidity and financial stability.
- Ensure adherence to GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Reconcile health insurance payments and retentions.
- Manage compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Act as a point of contact for external auditors, tax advisors, and other agents.
- Adjust long-term liabilities and amortization.
- Record depreciation expenses.
- Accrue income and update inventory records.
- Review profit and loss per class and monthly performance.
- Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements.
- Manage and review sales tax compliance (CA, WA, FL, MA, MN & IL).
- Make estimated tax payments for state and federal requirements.
- Maintain vendor and client contract tracking.
- Assist with SOC II Type II and PCI compliance audits.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
- 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a leadership or Controller role.
- Proficient in QuickBooks.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Good understanding of accounting terminology and functions including preparing, entering and understanding journal entries.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience with multi-state entities.
- Advance Excel skills.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
The accounting manager manages all employees of the accounting department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required, which would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position, and typical work hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and must work 37.5 hours each week to maintain full-time status.
TRAVEL
No travel is expected for this position.
Equipment Operator - $25/hr
ABOUT THE JOB
As an Equipment Operator, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the safe and efficient operation of what is considered one of the best operations in the State of Oregon. The department operates a modern fleet of trucks and heavy equipment including two and three axle trucks and semi-trucks, a variety of medium to large size loaders, excavators, bulldozers, paddle-wheel scrapers and compactors. This is a dynamic work environment where conditions often change throughout the workday. Equipment operators work a 4 day/10 hour schedule. While individual employee work schedules vary due to the nature of our facility operating schedules, all employees get at least 2 days in a row off during their work week.
Must be able to work additional hours and a flexible schedule when needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet the needs of the department and emergencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safe operation of trucks and heavy equipment in all tasks assigned, including excavation, material hauling and placement operations.
- Safe management of public traffic and material handling in an enclosed transfer station building.
- Care and general maintenance of vehicles, heavy equipment and landfill facilities.
What You Will Bring:

Minimum Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a combination of experience and training that will demonstrate the required knowledge and abilities to perform unskilled or semi-skilled tasks, and operate equipment and tools at a level necessary for successful job performance.
Necessary Special Requirements
Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Oregon driver's license within 30 days of hire date. The employment offer will be contingent upon presentation of an acceptable and verifiable driver's license, pre-employment screening for criminal history, driving history, and controlled substances (NOTE: Positive test results for marijuana use may result in rescission of a contingent offer of employment). This screening must be completed with satisfactory
findings in order for a formal offer of employment to be extended.
Possession of valid Oregon state driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Oregon Commercial Driver's License (CDL) (Class A) within the first six month of hire date.

Overnight Safety Monitor - $20/hr

Under the supervision of the Director of Emergency Services and the Director of Navigation Services, and the direct supervision of Lead and Safety Coordinators, the Overnight Safety Monitor will fulfill the following specific duties and responsibilities:
- Provide a welcoming, safe environment where participants are encouraged to access, and benefit from, overnight shelter, dinner and other services provided during the overnight
- Perform overnight intake and First Stay Registration in a thorough, accurate and welcoming
- Support the safety and security of individuals present at our establishment. This will occur through a combination of standing watch; patrolling the property and neighborhood; engaging individuals whose conduct and/or presence may entail safety issues; and alerting other staff and/or law enforcement to events or conditions that create safety concerns.
- Similarly support the safety and security of the facility and property. This will additionally entail competent knowledge of the physical layout and
- In engaging any individual for safety-related reasons, initiate contact with a kind and curious posture to identify the nature of the situation, then provide guidance with the required degrees of clarity, firmness and concern for the individual. The expectation is both to address overall safety concerns and act in regard for the individual's welfare, with value placed on the tools of de escalation and trauma-informed engagement. The hope is that physical threat, confrontation and/or force can be avoided.
- Guide participants continually in safe, responsible and orderly conduct. This entails knowledgeable application of our Relational Agreements, Good Neighbor Agreements, List of Prohibited Items, Points of Cooperation, Pet Policies, Grounds for Separation and any other guidelines or procedures that relate to safety and security here.

- Provide ancillary services such as the dinner meal, hygiene supplies, clothing, first aid supplies and any other service items available to meet guest needs.
- Maintain all areas in a clean, sanitary and orderly condition, especially including the dorm area, the bedding storage area and the food service area. This also includes clean and sanitary maintenance of guest storage totes.
- Participate in all mandated staff training courses as well as other trainings prescribed by our establishment as employer for performing the duties and responsibilities of this position.
- Stay informed regarding the identities of individuals separated, legally trespassed, or otherwise precluded from presence on our property and participation in its This will occur through effective communication among the entire team; regular attendance at designated meetings; consistent review of information accessed through our email such as team meeting notes and guest incident reports; and any other means.
- Prepare and distribute Guest Incident Reports and any other documentation necessary to tend to safety and security.
- Communicate with contracted security at shift change, and throughout the night, as to relevant matters affecting safety and security.
- Protect and enhance the relationships of our establishment with its community neighbors, as well as the sanitation, orderliness and appearance of the surrounding neighborhood. This will be done in collaboration with the entire team.
- Perform all other administrative or supportive employment duties, including but not limited to effective interface with our payroll system, effective access to and use of our email and online document software, sanitary maintenance of work areas, and protecting the integrity of our filing systems, whether on-line or in hard copy
- Fulfill all other relevant duties, tasks, and responsibilities communicated by the Director of Emergency Services, Director of Navigation Services and other appropriate staff.

Warehouse Associate - $20/hr
Family-owned business operating in Central Oregon for over 70 years. Seeking a motivated warehouse worker to join our team and assist in our warehouse: handling manufactured products and loading delivery trucks.
Requirements:
- Stable work history (unless you are new to the work force, have been working temporary or seasonal jobs and / or recent work experience has been impacted by the economy).
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Available to work Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday from 1pm til 9:30pm and Saturdays 9am –4pm. OT as needed after hired. (Sundays & Thursdays off)
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and Drug Screen. No THC.

Job Duties:
- Working in our warehouse handling manufactured food related products.
- Position requires much lifting (must be able to lift 50 lbs over head on a continuous basis), rotating products, receiving products and operating hand trucks, pallet jacks, and fork lifts.
- Monitoring production line & products for quality assurance.
- Must be able to work in a cooler environment. Most of shift is spent in 30-40 Fahrenheit degree environment, with some of the shift spent in 15 degrees below 0.

Cook - $20-$24/hr DOE - Bend, OR
All Star Labor & Staffing is now hiring a cook. The cook is responsible for maintaining, setting up, food production and quality control of all meat, fish, fowl, sauces, stocks, seasonings, and other food items prepared in the broiler and sauté stations, as well as the grill and other stations as needed. Prepares all hot food items according to standard recipes and/or as specified on guest check to ensure consistency of product to the guest. Visually inspects, selects, and uses only food items ideal for sauteing, in the preparation of all menu items. Ensures daily productions chart is properly filled out to standards. Checks and controls the proper storage of products. Keep all refrigeration, storage and working areas clean, working condition to comply with Health Department regulations. Ensure all equipment in working areas is clean and in proper working condition. Requires stamina for standing and strength for lifting and moving products. Must have valid food handlers’ card.

Day shift: 6am-2pm

All Star Labor & Staffing is now hiring a steward at an upscale restaurant here in Bend. This position consists of dishwashing, bussing tables, food prep if needed, etc. Fast paced environment, training provided.

Events Labor - $16 - $20/hr Central Oregon
All Star Labor & Staffing is currently looking for event and gig staff. Event dates vary and we are always hiring servers, dishwashers, ticket takers, public space attendants, concessions helpers, and janitorial positions, servers, general labor, demo, clean up, etc. Shifts range from 4-12 hours per day. Food handlers’ card required for all positions working with food. OLCC is required for any positions working with alcohol. Can employ candidates of 17 years of age or older. This position will provide customer service to direct and assist the public in utilizing waste and recycling disposal sites; answer questions regarding procedures, fees, recycling, etc., enforce policies and procedures with customers, and provide directions to disposal areas. Provide customer traffic control to ensure safe and effective operations. Maintain worksite in a clean, organized manner; including disposal areas, pick up litter on site as needed.

Responsibilities:
Generate accurate and timely billing statements for direct mail print jobs based on project specifications.
