Food Production - North Portland

Food Production Workers- North-Portland $13.25 - $16.00/hr

We are currently hiring food production workers in North Portland for one of our clients. There are several different positions open for day and swing shifts, these positions are for Machine Operators, and General Labor. Pay varies by position and experience. This is a mass production facility for food with hot, regular, and freezer environments. Some general job duties and general requirements are listed below. Full job descriptions will be provided if interested.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES for Gen Labor:

  • Actively perform production related duties in assembly and packaging of any product manufactured in plant operations.
  • Place labels, erect boxes, stack boxes on pallets, load and unload frozen vegetables and/or protein for safe food handling, remove and fill packaging materials, assist in removing finished frozen product from trays or other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or leads.
  • Generally, perform these duties as indicated by standing for long periods of time; repetitive movement is necessary for continuous line production output.
  • May be required to operate other equipment necessary in the production process temporarily. Rotate with other line employees in various positions as needed.
  • Practice and always follow all GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices) during production, which includes but not limited to all food safety practices and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES for Machine Operator:

  • Effectively and efficiently perform the safe operation of various machinery in the areas of set-up, troubleshooting and break down during operation.
  • In a timely manner, set up, start-up and break down during the beginning and end of all production shifts.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot effectively in order to minimize Production down time.
  • Regularly adjust necessary to maximize production machine efficiency. Must be able and willing to communicate all improvements to all team members and key departments.
  • Reduce downtime by actively identifying mechanical issues which have the potential for machine breakdown or downtime and reports to Leads and/or Supervisors.
  • May be required to operate other equipment necessary in the production process.
  • Practice and always follow all GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices) during production, which includes but not limited to all food safety practices and procedures.
  • Report to Line Leads or Supervisor when you observe food safety concerns regarding the unsafe handling of products and machinery.

Experience:

  • Food Machine experience for Machine Operator: 1 year (Preferred)
Warehouse - North Portland

Warehouse: North Portland $13/hr

We need warehouse staff for multiple openings on graveyard shift (930pm - 6am). Possible day shifts (530am - 2pm) or swing shifts (130pm - 10pm) openings.

These are full-time, temp-to-permanent positions! Positions begin at entry level with room for advancement. This is a great opportunity for those with little to no warehouse experience.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, with potential overtime on Saturdays.

Basic requirements include:
Ability to work within a physically demanding, fast paced, high volume facility performing manual labor
Lift/maneuver up to 30 lbs. of product
Follow safety guidelines and policies as designated by the company and government agencies
Pass a drug test

General Labor - $13.00 - $15.00

We are looking for reliable, dependable, and hardworking people in the Portland and surrounding area who are interested in general labor positions that include but not limited landscaping, food prep, janitorial, construction labor. DIRECT HIRE - Unarmed On-Site and Patrol Officers

Pay $15.50 - $17.00 (up to $20.00 for long term experience).

Responsibilities

  • Patrol premises on foot regularly to maintain order and establish presence

$12.75 Day shift | $13.00 Swing Shift

We are looking for dependable and reliable workers, for a food production facility in Hillsboro.

General Summary

Completes general activities on the production floor. 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Cleans and sanitizes the production facility and equipment according to food safety guidelines.
  2. Dismantles and reassembles production equipment for cleaning.
  3. Uses chemicals in proper concentration according to company guidelines.
  4. Properly labels and maintains all chemicals.
  5. Disconnect machinery power source for repair.
  6. Removes garbage from building and transport to dumpster.
  7. Follows company safety guidelines and Good Manufacturing Practices.

Behavioral Health Workers-Pay $22.00 to 26.40 - Contract

Behavioral Health Workers-Pay $22.00 to 26.40 depending on shift. Temp position

The Behavioral Health Worker provides a safe and supportive environment for social distancing shelter (SDS) guests and records shelter guest behavior when necessary, sharing any concerns with the Site Manager (Maribeth Shea) and SDS Shelter Lead (Avery Browning). The Behavioral Health Worker should be well versed in de-escalation techniques and provide guidance to shelter general staff as necessary. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Experience with social work, care coordination, health system navigation, or related
  2. A background working with individuals who are unhoused, in crisis, living with mental health and/or substance use challenges

Staff may find the following training and experience helpful:

  1. Online training regarding how to work with a variety of people and cultures
  2. Disaster Resource Center Flip books will be available at the location for Just In Time Training
  3. Emotional and Psychological First Aid
  4. Familiarity with Street Roots
  5. Familiarize yourself with the types of behaviors that are unacceptable in the shelter.
  6. Experience working in sheltering environments
  7. Training in: de-escalation, conflict management and mediation 

DUTIES:

  1. Arrive on time, stay for the duration of your shift.
  2. Check in with the SDS Shift Lead or Site Manager.
  3. Be available by phone and in-person throughout the duration of your shift.
  4. Obtain your personal protective equipment (keep at least two pairs of nitrile gloves with you at all times).
  5. Familiarize yourself with the facility. This will help you provide directions to guests and assist with any cleanup or other

tasks that may come up during your shift.

  1. Maintain situational awareness.
  2. Use supportive language and posturing.
  3. Ensure guests have a place to lay down, a space for themselves.
  4. Help guests with meals, snacks, drinks as you are able.
  5. Monitor guests’ activities to ensure that the space and fellow guests are treated well.
  6. Work in a team environment with a can-do attitude with a variety of outreach workers, first responders, volunteers, and others who may come to the shelter to provide assistance.
  7. Practice good social distancing and best practices like frequent hand washing, disinfecting, not touching one's face, and ensuring guests with worsening coughs are transported to hotel shelter space for testing

AR Clerk - $16 per hour

Accounting experience necessary to an extent, but this role actually takes all of the owner calls about their accounts, so customer service and professional communication outweigh the accounting experience a little bit. Need someone who can handle getting yelled at because people didn’t make their payment on time and are mad they have a late fee…and keep their cool.

POSITION & SCHEDULE 

We are currently hiring for the position of Concierge. This is a full-time, non-exempt position that would be responsible for the day-to-day customer service and monitoring of an upscale condominium building located in the Pearl District. Please note that concierges are expected to work all assigned shifts, even if the shift falls on a holiday, for which there is additional compensation.

Scheduled hours are Tuesday through Thursday 2:30pm to 11:00pm, Friday 3:00pm to 12:00am, and Saturday 4:00pm to 12:00am, with a 30-minute lunch each shift. This position has a great schedule for those in school or with other daytime responsibilities and has growth potential for moving into other roles within our team!

Francisco was promoted to Branch Manager of our Portland office in March of 2020. He originally joined our Corporate Operations team in 2019 as the Operations Assistant. He brings a wide range of experience from the non-profit sector, program management, higher eduction and staffing. Franciso enjoys experiencing the creativity of ideas and art. He earned his bachelor’s degree in General Social Science from the Univeristy of Oregon. In his free time Francisco enjoys traveling, fishing, the great outdoors, and expoloring the town.

She brings 20+ years of administrative experience and 8 years of human resources experience.  She worked 11 years for a medium-sized church in Portland as the Administrator and 8 years in HR for Central City Concern.  She has a heart for those seeking a second chance in life and a desire to help those wanting to succeed. 

Outside of work, Chris spends time with her 3 children and 8 grandchildren, hiking, reading, singing in two choirs, going to plays and enjoying time at the coast.
